Toronto's Bloor West Village is a popular neighbourhood located within a vibrant community; an abundance of shops and restaurants fill its busy streets. It is within walking to Toronto's largest park - High Park and attracts locals and tourists alike. Generosity and heart swept through this community close to 3 years ago when local 2 year old Thomas Bourke, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, needed help to attend an intensive treatment facility to become more mobile. With the love and support of his church, the Hope for Thomas fund was created and sparked a variety of community events ever since. A well known boy with a golden smile, his determination has touched the hearts of many residents and business community, creating a legacy of hope for a brighter future. This entry recognizes a spectacular neighbourhood within a large city – a popular place to live, work, play, shop and visit – and with that comes a heart within.
