They say Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods - if so - The Beach is THE BEST. One could best sum up the benefits of living in The Beach in just 4 words. Nature, Community, Proximity, Culture Nature: Just exit your door, walk down the road, and you're at the board walk, or on your sailboat, kite boarding, walking, or biking along an extensive trail network - you don't have to live in expensive Vancouver for this lifestyle. Community: Beachers are truly passionate about their community - they are active in local politics, and really care. I can't think of any other small neighbourhood that hits the National News so often - whether it is an issue with protecting a dog park, or even something as simple as whether or not to make the neighbourhoods name "The Beach" or "The Beaches". The Beach won. Proximity: Any Beacher knows - it's one of our best kept secrets - you are only 10 minutes from downtown, and you're almost always driving against the traffic - even at rush hour. If you prefer to bike to work - even better. Culture: Where else could one enjoy vibrant festivals from Jazz to art to Celtic heritage in local parks all year round? If this entry is successful in garnering the grand prize, the producers of this video intend to use a portion of the proceeds to launch a Dog Park awareness event - "Rock the Dog". Beachers are proud of our dog park - and in recent months there have been a number of by-law attempts etc... to shut down what is an important daily activity for so many local residents. Oh well - Life's a Beach :- )
